  • For sale is an English George IV sterling platter spoon by
    John, Henry & Charles Lias, London, 1823-24.  The piece is 11 7/8 inches long and weighs 106
    grams.  It has a swaged rounded drop and
    a downturned flared rounded handle.  It is
    engraved with the crest of the Harrington family, with the “NO DO FIRMO” motto,
    on the handle front, and is monogrammed “N” on the bowl drop as shown.  It is marked with the [IL/HL/CL] maker’s mark,
    a small journeyman’s mark and full London hallmarks for 1823-24.
    Condition on the piece is good. There is just normal wear
    from use.  A fine old serving piece!
